IRCTC joins hands with Oyo Rooms for bookings to passengers

INDIAN Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the next generation E-ticketing platform, has partnered with Oyo Rooms to launch an IRCTC hotel-booking page offering its budget room inventory to train travellers.
The IRCTC Tourism website now lists a new tab titled 'IRCTC Oyo Hotels'. This will redirect the user to a page on Oyo Rooms's website where users can complete the bookings.

seen on its accommodation tab, where Oyo Rooms drives all the searches under the 'Budget Hotels' tab, along with IRCTC's inventory of lounges, retiring rooms, and own list of hotels.
IRCTC CMD Dr. A.K. Manocha said that tech-enabled solutions will power the next wave of innovation, and that the partnership contributes another chapter to the successful narrative of "Make in India" initiatives.
IRCTC is one of the largest e-commerce destinations in India, with 5 to 5.5 lakhs bookings per day on an average. It has previously partnered with mobile wallet players Mobikwik and Paytm, and Foodpanda to pilot its food delivery service.
IRCTC, engaged in e-ticketing and also catering in a few selected trains, has of late strengthened its eatery business with the presence of its brand across the country.
The PSU provides meals in some premium trains like Rajdhani and Duranto, it also caters to its corporate clients like Samsung, Nokia, HCL and Oxford University Press through its base kitchens in Delhi and Noida. A public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, IRCTC, founded in 1996, is strengthening its presence in the food catering and tourism promotion segments.
Besides providing meals in some premium trains like Rajdhani and Duranto, it also caters to its corporate clients like Samsung, Nokia, HCL and Oxford University Press through its base kitchens in Delhi and Noida. IRCTC also plans to develop and operate the space by launching an IRCTC-branded specialty restaurant with bar and banquet facilities.
