energy conglomerate with roots planted way back in 1975 to accelerate power development in India. Since then it has established itself as the dominant power major with presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. From fossil fuels it has forayed into generating electricity via hydro, nuclear and renewable energy sources.
The total installed capacity of NTPC is 45,548 MW (including JVs) with 18 coal-based and seven gas-based stations. The PSU has set a target to have an installed power generating capacity of 1,28,000 MW by 2032.
ITI passouts, Chemistry graduates and candidates with NCVT certificate in Store keeping are eligible to apply for the relevant posts. However, as per the job notification, candidates with bachelor degrees from distance mode of education are not eligible to apply for these posts.
This NTPC Raipur Recruitment 2017 notification is for filling positions at NTPC Lara, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
NTPC is scheduled to organize a Written and Skill Test to select candidates for the above mentioned posts. The written test is tentatively scheduled for March 2018 and will be held in the cities of Raipur, Bilaspur and Raigarh.

The Written Test Paper will comprise of two sections viz:
First, the relevant discipline/trade based 70 questions
Second, 50 questions based on general awareness, quantitative aptitude and reasoning.
The exam paper will be bilingual
Earlier, NTPC had also notified recruitment for the Executive Trainees via GATE 2018 exam. NTPC aims to recruit Executive Trainees from Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Mining engineering background. As per its notification in September 2017, the application process for the same will begin in January 2018 and the applicants will be shortlisted for the Online Aptitude Test based on their GATE 2018 score. Furthermore, the candidates who clear the Online Aptitude Test will be eligible to participate in Group Discussion and Personal Interviews, which will be the deciding factors in the final selection of executive trainees.
