PM inaugurates NBCC built Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Institute of Archaeology in Greater Noida

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on March 9 inaugurated the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Institute of Archaeology built by NBCC in Greater Noida (UP).
Mahesh Sharma Minister of State (I/c) of Culture & MoS of Environment & Forest, Shri Yogi Adityanath Hon'ble Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh;  MLAs of the State and Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD, NBCC were present among other distinguished guests who attended the ceremony.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also....
unveiled a 15 ft. tall bronze statue of late Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya in the main building of the institute.
The state-of-the-art institute, built at an estimated cost of over Rs. 289 crore, was completed in 18 months much before the stipulated completion time. It is a first of its kind institute spread on an area of over 25 acres. The three-star ultra-modern green building of the institute is equipped with all latest technologies and comprises an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 people and an open-air theatre.
Located at Knowledge Park-II in Greater Noida this Institute of Archaeology (IA) is an academic wing of ASI under the Ministry of Culture and is built with an aim to provide an opportunity to students for achieving excellence in the field of archaeology.
“NBCC has always led from the front and exhibited unparalleled professionalism. We are thankful to the Government of India for being a constant source of inspiration for us and reposing faith in our capabilities to deliver for the country,” NBCC CMD Dr Anoop Kumar Mittal said.
Keeping sustainability at the helm of all its projects and initiatives, NBCC has also incorporated amenities like sewage treatment plant, rainwater storage, 100Kw Solar source along with replacement of the conventional light fixture by LED, resulting in energy saving up to 40%. The institute also has 14.5 Acres of lush green area.
Completed in a time span of 24 months the institute also comprises a Main Block RCC framed structure having Basement, Ground Floor, First Floor, Terrace Garden, Administrative block, Lecture hall, Curation lab, Faculty rooms & library etc to name a few.
Focus Northeast
Earlier on March 8, Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated a “modern” town hall at Belonia in Tripura built by NBCC at a cost of Rs. 24.91 crores, a move that will help in strengthening urban infrastructure in the state and North-East.
As a part of the mandate of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for the development of Tripura, NBCC undertook the construction of this project, which is spread over a plot area of 6,000 sqmts, in the South Tripura district.
The total built up area of the project is 3,950 sqmtrs. The differently-abled friendly complex has seating capacity of 1152 nos. in addition to meeting rooms, VIP rooms, art gallery, a green room, and a cafeteria among others.
Speaking on the occasion, NBCC CMD Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal said, “The North-Eastern states are an integral part of our country’s economy and their contribution is immense. NBCC is proud to be associated with the project in this part of the country. It is a testimony of NBCC's proficiency in constructing modern and advanced infrastructure.”
NBCC is also undertaking the construction of a 65-storeyed World Trade Centre in Guwahati, which is ready for a soft launch and will revolutionise global trade and commerce from the region. With all such projects, NBCC is increasing its footprint in the infrastructure map of the north-east also.
Making its foray into the Northeast, Assam government in February 2018 signed an MoU with National Building Construction Corporation (India) Ltd for setting up a Twin Tower Trade Centre here at projected cost of Rs 1.950 crore in self-financing mode. The project will be implemented at Basistha Crossing near NH-37 within a period of sixty months. The construction work of the Twin Tower will commence from July 2018 using green technologies and would reflect rich natural heritage and culture of Assam.
"This building is not just an impressive structure but it embodies the spirit of progress, the aspirations of the youth and a world class design," said Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on the occasion.
The PSU has been undertaking several significant projects like National Police Memorial in Delhi, NIA complexes in Hyderabad and Guwahati, infrastructure projects in health and education sectors, various redevelopment projects, office complexes of premier organisations such as CBI and CIC among others.
NBCC is a Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Its present areas of operations are categorised into three main segments: Project Management Consultancy (PMC), Real Estate Development and EPC Contracting. The company is listed with both the Stock Exchanges since 2012. The company’s unique business model has today makes it stand out as a leader in its own right in the construction sector with more than Rs 85,000 crore order book in hand.
