GAIL offices to move to swanky 22-storey building at Noida

PUBLIC sector behemoth Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) has got a new swanky and spacious address in National Capital Region (NCR). The nation's largest gas transmission PSU is moving into a swish 22-storey building, where all its offices will be housed under one-roof. Oil Secretary Saurabh Chandra inaugurated the new office building on April 3 in the presence...
of BC Tripathi, GAIL CMD, among others on April 3.
The GAIL Jubilee Tower, a dream project of company chairman and managing director BC Tripathi, is 118 metres tall, more than one-and-half times the height of the Qutub Minar (73 metres) and is also one of the tallest buildings in the NCR and is equipped with high-speed lifts, said a GAIL statement.
“The Jubilee Tower has been designed as per LEED-Platinum Green Building norms," the statement said.
"It is one of the few buildings in the NCR with a mechanised car parking. The three-tier semi-automatic car park can accommodate 265 vehicles in the basement," it said, adding that the building has a total built-up area of 2.5 lakh square feet, with the typical floor area being 9,000 sq ft.
It has a sitting capacity of 600 people and also houses the National Gas Management Centre which is linked to all the major pipeline centres of GAIL.
The building has its own captive power generation plant using gas engine generators and the waste heat recovered is used to run the AC system. A 30-KW solar power plant has been installed for area lighting. Its electricity load will be 40 percent less than other similar high-rises. The building is equipped with high performance glass with insulation on walls, occupancy and lux level sensors.

The building has a sitting capacity of 600 people and also houses the National Gas Management Centre which is linked to all the major pipeline centres of GAIL, called Regional Gas Management Centres. The entire natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas network of GAIL can be monitored from the NGMC, the first of its kind in India.
Even the construction of the building is a success story as it was completed in just four years and around 18,000 cubic metres of concrete and 2,300 metric tonnes of steel were consumed during the construction which required 30 lakh man hours.
Fly ash bricks and environment friendly cement, wood and paint materials were also used. The building has a sewage treatment plant and rainwater harvesting system and has zero water discharge to the surroundings, the statement said.
The GAIL Jubilee Tower is situated at B-35, 36, Sector-1, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a short distance from Delhi. The Maharatna PSU’s corporate and registered office is still located at 16, Bhikaiji Cama Place, New Delhi.
